Patient Reflections
- Jaclyn
I came to Dr. Haas with chronic low back pain from an injury that had begun affecting every part of my life—from how I moved during the day to how I slept at night. What makes her care so special is how she approaches healing holistically. We didn’t just treat the pain; we worked on posture, movement, and overall well-being. Dr. Haas is an incredible listener. I never felt rushed, and she truly took the time to understand what I was going through. She helped me feel seen—not just as a patient, but as a whole person. That trust and connection made a huge difference in my recovery. Thanks to her guidance, I’m managing my pain, sleeping better, and feeling like myself again. I’m so grateful to have had her support, and I can’t recommend her enough.

I was in a car accident which left me with chronic pain, limited spine mobility, and almost daily migraines. After seeing a number of specialists and no improvement, I was referred to Dr. Haas. She listened to my concerns with great empathy and was thorough in identifying the root cause of my pain. Dr. Haas’ approach is compassionate, gentle, and holistic. She has exceptional knowledge of the body and its complex intricacies. I especially appreciate Dr. Haas’ focus on healing the whole person - mental, physical, and emotional. After seeing Dr. Haas on a regular basis, I regained full spine mobility, eliminated the majority of my pain, and significantly reduced the occurrence of migraines. I don’t know where I would be today without her. Dr. Haas is a gifted healer and I am incredibly grateful for her.

I first found my way to Dr. Haas when I was pregnant with my third child.. With my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), pregnancy caused increased joint instability and significant back pain. Through regular visits with Dr. Haas I started to feel more and more at ease throughout my pregnancy and could be more present to enjoy the exciting stage of life. I continued to see Dr. Haas for 6 years beyond that pregnancy as she was the absolute best provider I had found that was able to gently guide my joints and body back to a more balanced state when things felt off or out of place. Prior to meeting with Dr. Haas I often felt my body was working against me in many ways with the EDS. Thanks to her gentle work and guidance at appointments I learned how to work with my body and developed tools to return to a more balanced state when things start to feel out of place. In short, Dr. Haas helped me feel more at home with my body and that’s something that will be with me always.

I first met Dr Haas when she was treating my granddaughter at Des Moines University. I was able to see how she responded to that type of treatment. In 2019 I was considering having another back surgery. I had four treatments in the first month. After that I went as needed which was every two months. I haven't thought about surgery anymore. Dr Haas cares about everything affecting her patients' well being. I drove three hours for her care. Do not hesitate to consult with her. I'm 73 and feel much better with OMM treatment.

I have been treated by Dr. Haas for the past several years. I have also observed her working with students on many occasions, sometimes two at once! She is an excellent and thoughtful teacher. She has been consistently kind, knowledgeable, poised, gentle and considerate. She is very professional and always explains what she is doing and asks permission if warranted. She is a beautiful soul who will treat you with the utmost care.

I started going to Dr. Haas after my gastroenterologist suggested I try osteopathic manual manipulation (OMM) to help relieve my symptoms of IBS-C which I had dealt with for 35+ years. I had immediate relief after my first visit and continued maintenance treatment with her for seven years. Dr. Haas literally changed my quality of life. She is one of the best physicians I have seen over the years and I highly recommend her.

Dr Haas is a genuine healer. As a patient receiving treatment from her over time, I know she is all together caring, fully capable, and compassionate. Her style of OMM is gentle yet effective, her hands carry both knowledge and intuition. I cannot emphasize how strongly I recommend her, and do so to my family and friends. You will find holistic and complete care with Dr Haas.

Dr. Hillary Haas redefined my experience with pain. Osteopathic manual medicine helped me develop a lifestyle for myself rather than always and only reacting to my pain. Where once pain ruled my life, Dr. Haas’s skills helped me figure out how to run my own life. I am only ever grateful when I think of her work with me, and would recommend her, and how she treats patients 100%. 10 out of 10. I and my family are also thankful that she was someone we, and no doubt many more could relate to. Her personable style made entry into the world of OMM/OMT easy.

Dr. Haas treated my husband for 5 years, he had Parkinson’s disease (PD). His condition made movement slow and sometimes painful. The goal was to keep him pain free as often as possible, Dr. Haas did that. EVERY visit he came out better than he went in. Visits were once or twice a month. Without her treatments his mobility would have confined him to a wheelchair full time. She not only cared for him, she cared about him. She taught us the things outside of her office that helped maintain pain free movement.
